ReplyDeleteIt grieves me much to report the death of the apprentice, Sassypaw. She died struck down on the thunderpath by a monster. FrostClan and StarClan will honor her loss. We will sit vigil tonight, and bury her in the morning.
We also have a new elder, Shortwhisker.
Skypelt and her new mate, Fuzzytail, have recently had a new kit, Smokekit. Congratulations Skypelt!

ReplyDeleteAs you all know, the prey is getting scarcer, and leaf-fall is upon us. We must begin to prepare for leaf-bare. We should start by making a stock of extra prey for when we really need it. We also should reinforce the dens, so that the cold will not get in. That should come after we get an extra stock of prey. We must, however, immediately insulate the nursury, sense, only recently, Skypelt has had Smokekit. Also, Goldentail's kits are soon to become apprentices. I'll assign as many work groups as possible, and inform the dawn and sunset patrols to catch any prey the scent. We'll need it.

Mintheart has informed me that she has had five healthy kits. Their proud father is Bouncestep. The names of the kits are Tinykit, Pebblekit, Crowkit, Mudkit, and Sassykit. Congratulations Mintheart!
Also, Dewstripe has moved into the nursery after only recently kitting. She has had one kit, and named it Blackkit. Be sure to congratulate these mothers at the nursery!

Is she feeling OK, or is she really close to having the kits? Raincloud wondered. She knows that Tawnypaw hasn't gone to the Snowy Oak. Is she just trying to give Tawnypaw more time?

It will give apprentices a practice, so they kinda know what the real one will be like. Leafpaw and Oakpaw, this is your practice assessment. Fuzzypelt stepped forward. "Yes, Snowstar."
"I, Snowstar, leader of FrostClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice, she has trained hard and learned the ways of the code, and I commend her to you as a warrior." Snowstar swung her gaze toward the excited looking calico cat. "Eclipsepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"
"I do."
"Then from this day forward, your name shall be Eclipseshadow. We welcome you as a warrior of FrostClan."

After the cheering had died down, Snowstar called out once more. "One more thing to do before everyone gets back to their duties. Lionkit, Mousekit, Sunkit, and Foxkit step forward."
The four kits stepped up to the base of the rock.
"Lionkit, Mousekit, Sunkit, and Foxkit, from now on and until you receive your warrior names, you shall be known as Lionpaw, Mousepaw, Sunpaw, and Foxpaw. Lionpaw, your mentor will be Shadowflower, Mousepaw, your mentor shall be Redforest, Sunpaw, your mentor will be Stripetail, and Foxpaw, your mentor shall be Smokepelt."
The mentors and apprentices touched noses.

ReplyDelete"I would like to welcome a new apprentice into the Clan," she announced. Whispers sounded through the assembled cats.
"I knew Rockpaw when we were younger, before I started FrostClan. We were friends, and then... He had a tragic accident and died. As you probably already know, my kit, Lilypaw died from her injuries in the fox fight. Somehow her death transported Rockpaw back to life, and he appeared in the Medicine Cat Den when Lilypaw died. Rockpaw, from now on until you become a warrior, I will be your mentor and teach you the ways of FrostClan."
Snowstar leaped off the rock and touched her nose to his.
Rockpaw! Rockpaw! Rockpaw! Rockpaw!
After the cheering had died down, she added. "We will sit vigil for Lilypaw tonight, and bury her at dawn."

They have trained hard, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Featherpaw and Rockpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"
"I do," breathed Featherpaw.
"I do," stated Rockpaw.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your new names. Featherpaw, from now on you will be known as Featherbird. May StarClan honor you for your kindness and bravery."
