Story Part 33 Part 2

"I don't know where we are anymore," noted Etharmoon.
"Well, this water looks exactly like the river we know very well," mewed Winterfrost logically. "If we follow it back, we should get back into FrostClan's territory."
"I hope this isn't someone else's territory," worried Etharmoon.
Eagletalon was looking accross the river. "The cliffs look just the same. One day I'll go there."
"Yeah, but shouldn't we worry about getting home now?" asked Winterfrost. "We need to bring something home so we can say we went out hunting."
"Let's fish!" mewed Etharmoon.
The three warriors each caught a silvery fish and, grasping them in their jaws, padded home, following the river. Once they got the the familiar part of the forest, they left their river path and headed into camp.
"We come bringing food!" announced Eagletalon loudly.
Snowstar padded over to them. "Good job. And I had thought you had gone off and neglected your duities again. Put that prey on the pile."
Eagletalon, Etharmoon, and Winterfrost put their prey on the pile, which was growing larger as more cats entered with their catches.
"Looks like the Clan will be well fed," Snowstar meowed. She then padded off to talk to her deputy, who had just entered the camp.
"What should we do now?" asked Eagletalon.
"I'm going to sleep. I'm exhausted," mewed Winterfrost. Etharmoon yawned and followed her brother. Eagletalon shrugged and followed his siblings. After all, they had gotten up very early to "hunt".

Story Part 33 Part 1 *Warrior Adventure Club For 3*

"It's time, it's time!" called out Etharmoon softly to her brothers. "We haven't had an adventure in quite a while, so I'm calling a meeting of the Warrior Adventure Club."
"Etharmoon," mewed Winterfrost with a yawn. "It's not dawn for quite a while yet. Don't we deserve to sleep?"
"As I say, there is no rest for the weary," piped up Eagletalon. He never had gotten around to cleaning the elder's den the other day. "I'm in!"
So off they went, two willingly and the other unwillingly, but not to be left behind.
"I say we explore deeper into the trees, away from the lake," mewed Etharmoon.
"I say we explore toward the rising sun," Winterfrost mewed, looking at the sun which was just barely a sliver of light on the horizon.
"I say we explore by the river," mewed Eagletalon.
Great, so they all had different ideas. Now, which one would they decide on? Winterfrost wondered this to himself. When he snapped back to reality, he noticed Etharmoon and Eagletalon fighting.
"The trees!"
"The river!"
"The trees!"
"The river!"
"The trees!"
"The river!"
"The-"
"Stop already!" yowled Winterfrost. Geez, his siblings' personalities sure clashed majorly sometimes. At least they were far away enough from camp to keep from others hearing their bickering. "I say we go neither of your two ways, and go my way, because you obviously will never  get the same opinion ever. Come on."
Winterfrost padded away toward where the sliver of the sun resided. Etharmoon and Eagletalon looked at each other for a moment in stunned silence and then followed their normally peacable brother's lead.
"The trees," muttered Etharmoon.
"River," Eagletalon whispered back.
Fortunately, they had not yet gotten in earshot of Winterfrost, who probably would have aborted the adventure time mission right then and there.
On the three travelers went, over hill and dale. Actually, they only went several foxlengths before Winterfrost stopped suddenly and Eagletalon bumped into him and Etharmoon bumped into Eagletalon.
"What's wrong?" asked Eagletalon. His brother had obviously sensed something.
Winterfrost sniffed the air. "I smell water."
"Oh. That's it?" asked Etharmoon. "I was half expecting you to say that you saw a dangerous rouge cat or something."
"Let's go explore!" Eagletalon was hopping up and down with excitement.
The three explorers headed off toward the water.
"Gee. Won't everyone wonder where we went?" asked Winterfrost as an afterthought.

Story Part 32 Part 2 *Success, Failure, and Failure*

"Want to go hunting with me, Etharmoon?" asked her former mentor, Blackslash.
"Sure," answered Etharmoon, who had just finished washing herself. "Ready when you are."
Blackslash bounded out for the woods. "I'm ready now!"
After a few minutes of searching, Etharmoon gestured with her tail for Blackslash to come. He padded silently over to her, and she whispered in his ear. "I smell prey up ahead."
Blackslash nodded, and started stalking forward; absolutely silent. Etharmoon followed him like a ghost. The bushes shivered up ahead. Blackslash's ears flicked backward, and Etharmoon lightly touched him with her tail, letting him know she had gotten his signal. Blackslash lowered himself into the hunter crouch and crept slowly forward, barely disturbing the bushes around him. Etharmoon followed, just as quietly.
Suddenly, Blackslash lept forward and crushed a squirrel beneath his claws, killing it in one blow. Etharmoon had seen another squirrel near the first one, and detoured to track it down as it ran from the noise Blackslash had made.
Just as she was closing in, the squirrel sprinted up a tree and sat on a branch, chattering at her. "Mouse-dung!" she spat. The squirrel just chittered at her some more, just to spite her. Then it leaped higher into the tree and vanished in the thick foliage.
"Bad luck!" called Blackslash, who had caught up with her.
Etharmoon shook herself. "I'll get the next one."
So the two hunters headed deeper into FrostClan's territory.

"Geez, Eagletalon. You were supposed to be on dawn patrol, and it's long past sun-rise," mewed Featherbird.
Eagletalon yawned. "Oops. Guess I forgot. I was having such a strange dream. I was chasing a mouse, and then it turned into a vole, which turned into a squirrel, which turned into a rabbit, which turned into a fox and was about to eat me."
Featherbird purred. "You have a wild imagination, Eagletalon."
"EAGLETALON!" came a voice from outside.
Eagletalon excused himself and left the warriors den and found himself nose to nose with Skypelt, the Clan deputy. "Hey," he mewed weakly.
"Don't 'hey' me, young tom. Just what did you think you were doing, skipping your assigned warrior duities! I clearly assigned you to dawn patrol, and there you were, sleeping soundly. Honestly, are ALL young warriors like you? I don't think so! I clearly remember that when I was a new warrior, I followed all the senior warriors' instructions, ESPECIALLY the deputy and leader. But no!!!! Nowadays warriors are..." Skypelt was just getting started in lecture mode. "Skip to the end," Eagletalon mewed. "I'll go clean the elders den." Skypelt didn't seem to notice him leave, so he decided not to clean the elders den after all. Instead, he headed for the river. He felt rather thoughtful today.
When Eagletalon arrived at the river, he looked accross it at the cliffs on the other side. "Some day, I'll become a great adventurer, and go to the far side of the river," he mewed softly to himself. "I'll fulfill my dream."

Story Part 32 Part 1 *Memories*

Spring had sprung in the territory of FrostClan. Etharmoon stretched and yawned. She looked around the near-empty warriors den and saw one of her brothers, Eagletalon, but didn't see her other brother, Winterfrost. Where did he go off to? She wondered. He was the one least likely of all of them to leave unexpectedly. She glanced at Eagletalon again, to see if he was thinking what she was, but he was sound asleep, his right paw twitching. Etharmoon hid a purr of ammusement as she climbed out of the den.
When she was walking through the forest, she suddenly caught the scent of Winterfrost. She followed it, and found him, then suddenly wished she hadn't; for he was at Lilypaw's grave. She saw his white head bowed deeply with sadness. Even though it had been moons since their sister's death, they all still felt grief at her passing. Etharmoon felt that Winterfrost had the hardest time about it. He had been the closest to Lilypaw, staying with her when Etharmoon and Eagletalon had gone on their journey to find the saviors of their clan, which turned out to be Lionflame and Ashfire.
"You can come over."
Etharmoon started at her brother's voice. She hurried to obey. When she took her spot by Winterfrost, their pelts brushing, she half wanted to say something, but their closeness was all that was needed. The two cats sat in silence, remembering their good sister and friend, Lilypaw, who had unexpectedly left them early.
Oh Lilypaw, thought Etharmoon. If only you were here with all of us still. You would be a warrior too. I know Snowstar and all the rest of the Clan would have been just as proud of you as they are of us now.

Story Part 31 *Three Tales*

Etharmoon paced the warriors den, anxious to get outside.
"What's the rush?" asked Blackslash, her former mentor.
"I don't know, but this winter is warmer than normal," she replied. "I guess I want to catch all the prey I can before the snows come and we're burried."
"Makes sense," meowed Blackslash. He shook himself and bounded out of the den. Etharmoon followed him.
*     *     *     *     *
"And now, we have live news coverage brought to you by your truly, me!" came the voice.
Blink blink. "I don't get it," mewed Winterfrost.
"Switching channels!" cried Shortwhisker. She pawed at the TV remote and it switched. Music was playing in the background as crowds of twolegs danced around in peculiar patterns.
"Too old fashioned," meowed Winterfrost, noticing the black and white only. "Let's find something with color."
Shortwhisker pawed at the remote again. A cat was chasing a mouse. "This is more like it!" mewed Shortwhisker. "You'll learn twoleg speak in no time!"
Winterfrost tried keeping his confusion to himself. This seems impossible...

The mountain peak was snowy. The light brown tomcat trudged through the high drifts. A suddenly strong gust of wind almost knocked him over, and then he plowed into a drift as high as his chest. "Mrowwwwww!" he cried. His yowl echoed around the surrounding mountains, bouncing off their peaks. The air was suddenly silent. Too silent. He looked around, and the the ground began to shake. he looked right, left, down, and then, finally, up. The top of the mountain he was climbing was shaking. No, it was sliding toward him. "Heeeeeelp!"
